Business Opportunities: Each year the Commonwealth buys goods and services totaling more than $5 billion. The Virginia Department of Veterans Services (DVS) wants to do business with you and increase participation of small, women owned, and minority-owned businesses. To qualify to do business with the Commonwealth, complete three easy steps.
Certify - Register - Sell
CERTIFY: Certify your business as a Small, Woman or Minority-owned Business.
In order to qualify as Small, Woman or Minority-owned (SWAM) business, your business must be certified by the Virginia Department of Minority Business Enterprises. The certification is free and can be completed online at http://www.dmbe.virginia.gov/swamcert.html.
REGISTER: After you apply for certification, register your business in eVA, the state's electronic procurement system.About 88% of the Commonwealth's purchases are made through this system. Registration in eVA takes approximately 2 hours to complete online. It will provide information about your business to more than 9,000 users. Register at http://www.eva.virginia.gov/register/index.htm.
SELL: Sell to the Commonwealth. Once your business is certified and registered, you can begin selling to the Commonwealth.
