The American Battle Monuments Commission (ABMC) is the guardian of America's overseas commemorative cemeteries and memorials. Dr. Benjamin Brands, ABMC historian, will explore the Commission's origins in World War I, the development of the World War I and World War II commemorative programs, and how the agency's mission to honor the service, achievements, and sacrifice of U.S. armed forces has adapted and expanded to the present day.
