VISITING VVCC and SBVCC

Ensuring that the residents of our care centers are cared for in a safe and healthy environment is our highest priority.

We are also committed to keeping our residents and families connected and welcome in-person visitation.

VVCC and SBVCC continue to follow CMS, CDC, and VDH guidelines. A care center team member will explain the procedures that must be followed during in-person visits, including the requirement for wearing of non-cloth masks.

We encourage, and offer upon request, COVID testing prior to visitation to reduce the spread of  the COVID-19 virus and to protect the health of our residents and staff.

Families needing to connect with their loved ones outside of in person visitation, should contact VVCC at 540-982-2860 or SBVCC at 804-371-8000 for help coordinating alternative means of connection, such as phone or video chat.

Thank you for your patience and understanding as we work together to protect the health and safety of our veterans while keeping you connected.

Virginia Veterans Care Center (Roanoke)

The Virginia Veterans Care Center (VVCC) provides affordable, high quality, comprehensive nursing, short-term rehabilitative, and long term care options to Commonwealth of Virginia residents who are admitted to the VVCC.

VVCC has 224 beds and provides comprehensive, high quality care with on-site laboratory work, x-rays, physical therapy, podiatry care, and many other ancillary health care services. The Salem VA Medical Center is also located next door for additional services for those qualified.

Additionally, the building and grounds offer an array of amenities to include wheelchair accessible nature trails and deck, library, chapel, barber shop, and billiard room. The facility is nestled in the landscape of the Blue Ridge mountainside and has been enjoyed by our veterans since it was opened on Veterans Day, 1992. Click here to view the VVCC brochure.
