HIRE VETS NOW Networking Reception Coming to Fort Lee

Transitioning Service Members, Veterans and Military Spouses Invited To Meet With Potential Civilian Employers at Free Afternoon Event

(Fort Lee, Va.) Transitioning service members and veterans will have the opportunity to connect with many of Virginia’s top civilian employers in industries such as aviation, medical, IT, cyber security, logistics, manufacturing and state government at the HIRE VETS NOW Hiring and Networking Event, Thursday, April 19 on base at Fort Lee.

The reception will take place at the Warrior Zone, 1421 C Avenue, Fort Lee, Va. 25801 from 3:30-5:30 p.m.  and includes free refreshments. Those wishing to attend this event should register online now at www.vachamber.com/hirevetsapril19. Walk-ins are welcome.

“This reception will give transitioning military, veterans and their spouses the chance to meet and talk with representatives of a host of employers in a casual atmosphere,” said Alison Foster, program manager, for the Virginia Department of Veterans Services (DVS) Virginia Transition Assistant Program (VTAP). “DVS and the Virginia Chamber are excited to partner with the Fort Lee Soldier For Life – Transition Assistance Program to connect our highly-skilled military talent to the best civilian careers in Virginia.”

Presenting sponsors for the reception are Altria and Logistics Management Institute (LMI). Participating employers will include Admiral Security Services, Averitt Express, Bridgestone, Commonwealth of Virginia, Dynamic Aviation, ICF and IntelliTechs, Inc. Also participating will be Joint Logistics Managers, Kokua Support Services, Lunaline, Inc., S&P Global Intelligence, Verizon and Virginia Premier Health Plan.
