The Virginia Department of Veterans Services Announces V3 Employment Grant for Virginia Employers

Through overwhelming support in the General Assembly House of Delegates and Senate, the Virginia Department of Veterans Services is excited to announce a new grant program for Virginia employers through the Virginia Values Veterans (V3) Program.

This new grant, called the V3 Employment Grant, is funded with $500,000 in its pilot year, and employers could be eligible for up to $10,000 in grants per year for hiring qualified Veterans.

Specifically targeted at companies with 300 or fewer employees, this grant will incentivize participation in the V3 Program and encourage the hiring of talented and dedicated Veterans. Applications for theV3 Employment grant will be accepted beginning July 1, 2015.

“This grant for V3-certified companies is a demonstration of the Commonwealth’s commitment to investing in Virginia’s New Economy by encouraging employers to hire Veterans,” said John Newby, Commissioner of the Virginia Department of Veterans Services. “We at the Virginia Department of Veterans Services believe that hiring Veterans into your workforce will be one of the best business decisions your company makes. The specialized skills, leadership, ethics, and character they have gained in their military service makes them a valuable asset.”
