The Virginia Department of Veterans Services launches New consumer-oriented, mobile-friendly website & mobile App

Website & app will provide streamlined access to a wealth of information regarding
state and federal veteran benefits

Continuing its work to make the Commonwealth the most veteran friendly state in nation, the Virginia Department of Veterans Services (DVS) today officially launches a completely new, mobile-friendly website and DVS Virginia app.

“The launch of our new website and app reinforces our dedication to providing the best user experience for veterans and their families,” commented John Newby, Commissioner of the Virginia Department of Veterans Services. “The Commonwealth offers tremendous resources for our veterans, and these online tools are designed to ensure that these resources are not only known, but ultimately used to the benefit of those for whom DVS is duty-bound to serve.”

Major new features include a more user-friendly user interface, a new mobile-optimized website, easier navigation and enhanced social media integration. Also newly offered is the DVS Virginia mobile app, which offers a custom-designed interface for smart phone or tablet devices. The DVS Virginia app is currently available on the Android Market and will soon be available on Apple’s App Store. To download the android version today click here.

Tina Parlett-Calhoun, the Director of Communications for DVS, noted “the new website features a simple navigation system that makes finding services easy and intuitive. We invite veterans and their families to visit the new website at www.dvs.virginia.gov and engage with DVS often via our social media platforms; follow us on Twitter and like us on Facebook. Both forums provide daily updates regarding veteran events and services throughout the Commonwealth.”
