Five ways to get Your Veterans ID Card*:

*Requires a $10 DMV application fee.

You must have a valid Virginia driver’s license or identification card. You will also need a copy of your DD-214.

If you apply in person at a DMV office, you will receive a temporary veterans ID which can be used as proof of veteran status until your veterans ID card arrives in the mail.

Virginia Veterans ID cards never expire. You will receive your new Virginia Veterans ID card in the mail within a week.
